The Seacoast is a great place to work in marketing. There are tons of cool, creative people in the industry here. So why aren’t we getting together more to talk shop? Well, we’ve decided to do something about that.
Raka will host our first Portsmouth HubSpot User Group event on Thursday, May 30 at 6 p.m. in our offices on the third floor of 501 Islington Street. HubSpot User Groups, or HUGs for short, are free, in-person quarterly meetups open to all HubSpot users and anyone interested in HubSpot or inbound marketing. These events are designed to help you with advanced strategy, to learn more about HubSpot software capabilities, and to provide a place for local HubSpot users to gather, get to know each other, and talk about what’s new and evolving in the industry.
There had been a Portsmouth, NH HUG a few years back but it’s been dormant for a couple years so we are happy to help jump-start this regular inbound marketing meeting!
Raka Partner Brian DeKoning and Raka Director of Inbound Marketing Mary Brown were selected to lead the HubSpot User Group because of their HubSpot experience and dedication to HubSpot education.
“We’re very excited and feel lucky to have Brian and Mary onboard to lead the Portsmouth HUG after a leader application process that was our most competitive to date,” said Juliana Nicholson, HubSpot’s senior program manager of HubSpot User Groups. “With such close proximity to HubSpot’s offices in Cambridge and Portsmouth to coordinate with HubSpot speakers, they are in a great position to lead a very successful HubSpot User Group.”
Raka is proud to be a HubSpot Agency Partner, and we are really excited to be hosting the Portsmouth HUG. Marketing has come a long way since Raka was founded 15 years ago, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that things change fast. HUGs are here to help keep us all up to speed.

Do I have to be a HubSpot user to come?
The content of these HUG presentations is geared toward HubSpot users, but that’s not the only thing HUGs are about. It’s an opportunity for people to collaborate, innovate, and talk about new ideas. If you are interested in inbound marketing, but are not a HubSpot user, feel free to come by. You’ll pick up some great information and get to hang out with other people who do what you do. Plus, you’ll look like a rock star when you go to work Friday morning with useful knowledge to share.
This video from a New York City HUG has testimonials from attendees talking about what they’ve gained from the HUGs they’ve attended (if you’d like a little more info on what it’s all about).
